Nicholas (Melbourne)

Nicholas (Melbourne)

Therapy Supervisor

Nick has spent over 3.5 years working across more than 20 teams at Lizard, supporting both male and female learners aged from 2yrs and up. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Graduate Certificate in Counselling, and currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Nick brings both academic knowledge and hands-on experience to his role.

Having grown up alongside a brother with ASD, Nick’s personal experiences deeply inform his empathetic, strengths-based approach. He is particularly skilled at building joyful relationships with young learners, helping them to feel confident, empowered, and supported as they work toward their goals. He’s known for bringing warmth, energy, and a strong sense of fun to his sessions, making learning a positive experience for each child.

Nick has experience working with a wide range of diagnoses and behavioural presentations, including complex and high-intensity behaviours. In fact, he welcomes challenges, seeing them as opportunities to learn, adapt, and make meaningful progress. His approach is always team-focused, working closely and building trust with families, and encouraging open communication, ensuring everyone feels supported and is aligned and working toward shared outcomes.

Outside of work, Nick trains in the Japanese martial art of Kendo. For him, it’s not just a sport, it’s a way to grow as a person. Kendo is about discipline, resilience, and striving to become the best version of yourself. It mirrors his approach to therapy: taking on challenges, learning from every experience, and continuously working to improve, not just for himself, but for the learners and families he supports.

For Nick, the most rewarding part of his work is seeing a learner thrive, and watching that joy ripple through their family and support network. His proudest achievements come from those small but powerful moments, when a learner meets a milestone, overcomes a barrier, or simply lights up with excitement during a session.
