Marija (Sydney)
Therapy Supervisor (NEW)
Marija is a kind, compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Analyst with over four years of experience supporting children and families at Lizard Centre. She holds a bachelor’s degree in general psychology and a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis.
Marija absolutely loves working with children and believes that building strong, trusting relationships is the foundation of successful therapy. She loves seeing children grow in confidence and independence while ensuring every session is fun, engaging, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths and goals. For Marija, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing children achieve milestones that once seemed impossible. She values working collaboratively with families, schools, and other teams to ensure every child receives consistent support across all environments.
Marija works with children aged 3 to 10 years and has experience supporting a diverse range of developmental, behavioural, and emotional needs. She has worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), anxiety, trauma-related presentations, and other complex behavioural challenges including aggression, emotional dysregulation, self-injurious behaviours, non-compliance, and difficulties with communication and social interaction.
Outside of work, Marija enjoys staying active through swimming and rock climbing, playing the guitar, and discovering new games and activities to incorporate into her therapy sessions. She’s always on the lookout for creative ways to connect with children, whether that’s learning a popular game like Minecraft or finding fun, engaging activities that support learning and development.
