Louise

Therapy Supervisor

Region: Adelaide

I’m a Therapy Supervisor at Lizard Centre and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with around seven years of experience working with children and teenagers with ASD in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis! I earned my Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin and am currently completing my PhD in Special Education, which I expect to finish in 2026. Hook ’em Horns!

In my role, I work closely with school-aged children (Pre-K to Year 12), their families, and my team members to develop individualized goals that support each child’s needs. I’ve had the opportunity to work in both clinical and in-home settings, which has given me valuable experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds and supporting teams across a variety of environments. It’s important to me that goals are not only meaningful and individualized to each child, but that the strategies we use are also practical and feasible for families and team members to incorporate into everyday life.

I’m especially passionate about empowering individuals to build greater autonomy by teaching self-management skills. I also really value collaborating with families, as I believe my role is ultimately to “work myself out of a job”—in other words, to provide families with the knowledge and tools they need to confidently support their child’s growth and development into adulthood.

Outside of work, I’m always finding a new hobby or skill to hone! Right now, you would probably find me at a local chess club, tackling a new route at the bouldering gym, or exploring Adelaide with friends.

If I could tell every parent one thing before their first appointment, it would be that you don’t have to have all the answers before you walk through the door. We’re here to listen, learn about your child and family, and work together to find the supports that are right for you.
